The Calderwood opening brings together leading local property professionals and establishes Urban’s first permanent presence in the region.
Calderwood, NSW: Urban Real Estate has expanded into the Illawarra, officially opening its 17th office in Calderwood on Thursday, 23 July.
The opening establishes Urban’s first permanent presence in the Illawarra and continues the agency’s strategic expansion across key residential growth corridors in New South Wales. The Calderwood team brings together respected local property professionals Simon Hagarty, Patrick Ciocca and Owen Taylor, combining established relationships, extensive market knowledge and the support of Urban’s broader network.
Taylor joins Urban following his recognition as realestate.com.au’s 2025 Top Agent for Calderwood as part of the award-winning Team Taylor. His proven performance and strong local profile add further depth to Urban’s presence in the region.
Urban Real Estate CEO Katrina Tarrant said Calderwood had been selected for its long-term growth potential and the opportunity to build a genuinely local business backed by the scale of an established network.
“Calderwood is a region with enormous potential, but our decision to open here is about more than growth. We want to become part of the fabric of the area, contributing to its future and delivering genuinely local service backed by the scale and capability of Urban,” Ms Tarrant said.
“Opening in Calderwood is about more than placing an Urban sign on a building. It is about planting roots, investing in local people and building something of lasting value for the Illawarra. Our team lives here, serves this region and shares our confidence in its future.”
The Calderwood office will provide residential sales and property management services across Calderwood and the broader Illawarra, supported by Urban’s centralised marketing, technology, compliance and operational capabilities. Ms Tarrant said the expansion was designed to create further opportunities for both clients and property professionals in the region.
“We are entering the Illawarra with a highly capable local team, a strong operating platform and a clear commitment to the region. Our ambition is to build an office that becomes deeply connected to the people and places it serves, while creating meaningful career and business opportunities for local property professionals.”
Owen Taylor said joining Urban marked an exciting new chapter for the local team. “We have enormous confidence in Calderwood and the wider Illawarra. This partnership allows us to retain the local knowledge and relationships our clients value while accessing the resources, technology and support of a much larger network,” Mr Taylor said.
“We are excited to build something here that reflects the character of the region and delivers an even stronger experience for our clients.”
The expansion brings Urban Real Estate’s network to 17 offices across the Hunter, Hawkesbury, North West, South West and Illawarra regions. The Urban Real Estate Calderwood office is now open, servicing homeowners, buyers, landlords and investors throughout the Illawarra.
